SAMA 31 is getting off hard, with nominated artists Thandiswa Mazwai, Black Motion, Kelvin Momo in high rotation
South African Music Awards have returned with yet another successful pick on the artists nominated, in the different categories, but Kelvin Momo, Sjava, Black Motion and Thandiswa Mazwai are seen as the great pick for 2024 highest performaing artists in their genres.
Highest Performing Artists for 2024:
• Sankofa by Thandiswa Mazwai is seeing us look into the topics of remembering who we are, accountability, being strong willed, endings, is must win Afro Pop Album. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
Songs such kunzima: dark side of rainbow a story of having no fear for confrontations, honesty, crumbling leadership, accountability.
• The Cradle of Art by Black Motion is another project that the group worked on, songs like Abatwana, Konichiwa, Impi, Andinayo are some of the hits I think you should go listen, to understand why it can win an award for best Dance Album🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
For the Amapiano artist Kelvin Momo's Ntsako was consistent in the beginning of December last year, as 2025 was progressing it got in high rotation, I think we should say that the decision that came to collaborations here was good, Siphethe u-Jinger Stone with Suit & Tie, then another song was 583 featuring Nvcho, Stixx, Bo Gogo featuring Thatohatsi was standing out, still is.🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
This was a really really good project, now more conversations should revolve around Thato Ya Modimo, for best Amapiano album for SAMA 32.💯
In Afro Pop we see Sjava Isibuko Deluxe and Inkanyezi locked in, crossing fingers to Inkanyezi taking it.🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

must definitely go to Yoav & Jabulile Majola with Unyazi, because I mean did you hear the project, if not go back🩵🩵🩵🩵

• Best Gqom is tough one because Mr Thela and DJ Lag's projects came out crazy, now it's up to the public for this one.🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
• Best R&B/Soul must go to Filah Lah Lah, On Air was just too much guys, Heartbreak Hotel Deluxe craaazy, The Big Hash went craaazy on that album.🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

But questions are about to arise as to why must 5/7 Artists be accommodated for each category that has numerous artists who performed well that specific year?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
A minimum of 9 artists should be represented for each category for a clear, matured, well structured system of choice🤔🤔🤔
Researchers, Music reviewers, Event organisers, Data analysts, Fans must be considered to be invited and sit in the meetings held by the organizations involved in the decision making processes.🤔🤔🤔🤔
Bigger venues such as Sun Bet Arena should be considered being used for the awards as fans would like to attend the ceremony in high numbers.
And for different small businesses to set up collaborations with big organizations to in assisting with opportunity for young people in the arts, culture and sports industry.👍👍👍👍👍
Brand Identity has to be reworked on, for it to represent cultural diversity, and where we are as a country, and the integration of Artificial intelligence in the modern South Africa.💻💻💻💻
