The responsibilities of a community leader and their team go much beyond handling day-to-day operations in the complex web of any community. Community leaders need to be more aware of what the younger generation is doing, especially over the holidays when they have more spare time. In addition to keeping things in order, this watchfulness helps identify if the community is producing future leaders or inadvertently creating obstacles.
The youth's interests, preferences, and aspirations are frequently shown over the holidays. Armed with knowledge about these endeavors, a community leader is able to determine the possible course of how or what can be done to heal a broken youth in the community or inspire a already highly enthusiastic youth in the community.
That can be done through leader and youth talk sessions and youth events hosted by community leader along with community entrepreneurs.
The collaboration between entrepreneurs, security sector, and the community leaders can do research on what happens in the community, and work on what needs to be done for the next 10 to 15 years to bring a wonderful definition of what it means to them from Soweto, Tembisa, or Mamelodi.
